Level 6.2 Guide: Laser Gates & Rear Cleanup

The map offers fewer obvious chokepoints, so create your own: slow the front, cut broad approaches with Laser gates, then clean the thin survivors behind the main line.

Most repeated release-build route: front-load the defense, slow incoming orcs, bounce Lasers across the top and bottom gaps, aim Cannons through narrow traffic lines, and keep Tesla Coils well behind the kill zone.

The reliable 6.2 plan

  1. Choose two primary kill zones. Community clears often divide the map with Laser gates instead of trying to cover every open area evenly.
  2. Put control before power. Slow Grenades keep the crowd inside repeated Laser crossings and Mortar impact areas. Cryo Beam can interrupt a stream that is about to escape.
  3. Bounce Lasers between close blocks. Flat horizontal or vertical edges are more reliable than irregular slants. The goal is a gate the horde must cross multiple times.
  4. Aim Cannons into the gaps. Players report that firing through the narrow spaces both damages the packed lane and helps keep it from spilling freely.
  5. Place Tesla behind everything else. A current general guide tested Teslas closer to the front and reported much worse results. Let them target isolated survivors.

How to diagnose a failed attempt

  • A full lane breaks at once: add or reposition slow effects before adding rear cleanup.
  • Single orcs leak everywhere: move Tesla Coils farther back or add one more rear coverage point.
  • Lasers underperform: inspect the wall angle and bounce path; irregular edges can make the gate unreliable.
  • Explosions scatter the crowd: reduce or rotate Mortar coverage so knockback does not create a shortcut.
  • The end becomes chaotic: preserve Cryo, Missile, Strafe or Nuke uses for the final leaks instead of spending them on the healthy main mass.

Perfect is optional for progression

The official Against All Odds achievement only says to survive Level 6.2. A damageless community layout exists, but a clean-up ability used on late escapees is still a valid first clear.
